Metals We Offer
Sterling Silver
925
Sterling silver jewelry is an excellent, high-quality choice. The metal will not rust or perish; if you look after your jewelry, it will look great forever! Sterling silver cleaner or baking soda slurry can revert the oxidation if it happens to occur.
14K Solid Gold
585
14 Karat refers to the metal mix that is 58.3% gold, compared with 18 Karat, which is 75% gold. It is an alloy composition made of gold and durable metals like zinc, silver & copper. This sturdy blend is completely resistant to corrosion, rust and tarnish. 14K gold is used for engagement rings, eternity bands, pendants, earrings, and other fine jewelry pieces. With 14K gold, the metal is beautiful and durable for everyday wear.
Gold-Filled
Unlike solid gold, gold-filled jewelry is composed of 5% solid gold that is mechanically bonded to the base metal (jewelers brass). This mean that gold-filled jewelry has up to 100 times more gold that gold plated jewelry. Gold-filled is a quality option that wont break the bank, but still offers a decent lifetime for the piece. Gold-filled jewelry is waterproof and doesn’t oxidize or corrode. With little to no care, your gold-filled jewelry will last 1-3 years.
JEWELRY CARE GUIDE
To keep your welded jewelry and charms looking their best, clean them with warm water, a gentle toothbrush, and dish soap. Jewelry polishing cloths also work great to restore their shine. Make sure to keep your jewelry free from perfumes, makeup, hairspray, lotion, and other chemical products. Ignoring these instructions may result in tarnishing of gold-filled or sterling silver jewelry over time.
Sterling Silver Care
925 Sterling Silver can oxidize due to exposure to chemicals in the environment, such as chlorine and sulfur compounds. Common culprits include hot tub chemicals, cleaning agents, natural hot springs, humidity, and even your body's pH levels. If your welded jewelry becomes tarnished, a baking soda slurry, silver cleaner, or silver cleaning wipes can restore it to its original condition.
Remember, permanent jewelry is delicate and should be handled with care to avoid snagging and breakage. If your jewelry does break, we offer free repairs and re-welding within 90 days of purchase.
If you notice a dark ring on your skin under your permanent jewelry, it is not due to low-quality materials or tarnishing. We use only high-quality materials at Manifest. Skin discoloration can occur due to lotions, perfumes, medications, and other chemical products reacting with jewelry metals, especially when it's hot and you sweat. Even pH levels and acidic sweat can cause this reaction (factors like low iron levels and pregnancy can increase acidic pH levels). Additionally, not regularly cleaning your jewelry can lead to dirt buildup, which may transfer to your skin when you sweat. To prevent this, follow our care instructions diligently.
Responsibility and Repairs
Your permanent jewelry is delicate. Once welded onto you, it is your responsibility to care for and clean it. Avoiding these instructions may result in a damaged or broken chain. We offer free repairs within the first 90 days, but we cannot replace or credit for damaged or lost jewelry. Manifest is not responsible for mishandled, damaged, broken, lost, or stolen chains or charms.
By following these care instructions, you can ensure your jewelry remains beautiful and in great condition for a long time.
